FAQ

How are your pieces made?

Each piece starts off as a ball of clay measured to each item's weight specifications and wedged. They are then thrown on the pottery wheel and measured for consistency. After letting it dry to the "leather hard" stage, pieces are trimmed to get rid of excess weight and to shape each piece as intended. My maker's mark is then stamped at the bottom of each piece.

Pieces are left to dry completely for a few days before they go into the bisque firing which turns clay into ceramic. Any dust from the firing is cleaned off and the piece is ready for glazing. After a piece has been glazed, it is ready for the final firing at 1220°C for about 9-10 hours. The kiln would then need to cool for another 24 hours.

After the kiln has been cooled, the pieces are then unloaded and inspected for any imperfections. Finally, the bottoms get sanded down to ensure that your countertops don't get scratched.

The entire process for each pot can take up to 3-4 weeks.

Do you take commissions?

Commissions and pre-orders are currently closed.

How do I care for my pieces?

Each piece is glazed with food safe and non-toxic glazes. They are microwave and dishwasher safe but for longevity, handwashing is recommended. Please avoid sudden drastic temperature changes as the piece may crack.
